The Mamanuca Sea Turtle Conservation Project has been boosted with the timely donation by Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC).

Receiving the awareness materials, Project Manager Marica Vakacola said that these materials came in on time and will be very handy going into the second phase of the project. The team is scheduled to conduct community consultation on the island of Tavua in Malolo late this week and these materials will be used as part of the awareness.

The materials donated by SPC include collections of Marine Turtle, Sharks and Pacific Island Sea Cucumber and Beche-de-mer identification cards, posters for awareness, labels and other useful books of best practices documented from other Pacific Island countries.

MES would like to thank SPC for donating the materials and for strengthening the bonds between the two organizations. With special gratitude’s, MES is looking forward in working together with SPC in the future in enhancing conservation in the Mamanuca group of islands.
