The ‘Refresher Course’ is another of MES ongoing projects, with the goal to educate resort staff on various environment topics. MES conducts refresher courses for all its interested member resorts once a year. Kick starting the Refresher course for the year was Mana Island Resort on Friday the 25th of July followed by Navini Island Resort on the 6th of July.

At Mana a total of 16 staffs from Marine Department, Human Resource Department., Guest Relations, Front Office, KIDS Club, Meimei, SPA, AQUA Trek and Sea Fiji attended the one day course. A total of 8 staffs participated at the refresher course in Navini from Marine Department, Activities and Operations. The refresher program at both resorts included topics such as Green tourism, Eco-tourism, Waste management, Importance of coral reefs and Environment Acts & Regulations. The topics were delivered mainly by means of power point presentations. Participants actively participated in the program with the group activities and discussions that were incorporated into the course.

At the end of the course, participants were awarded with a certificate of completion. Participants were also requested to provide feedbacks about the effectiveness of the course, by filling out an evaluation form, which will greatly help the MES team on the effective delivery of the refresher course at the next resort and the inclusion of relevant topics.

The MES team would like to thank Mana Island Resort and Navini Island Resort staff that were part of the refresher course and also look forward to the upcoming refresher courses with the remaining member resorts.  Mana refresher course
