Mamanuca Environment Society continues with its school program.

This time targeting mainland schools for term Two. These schools include Vuda District School, TA Learning Center, Nabila Public School and Ratu Nemani Memorial School.

The school program will be held in these schools for eleven weeks. Now into the 5th week of the program, the help from our volunteers has been tremendous. Helping out in the delivery of the lessons and facilitating with the activities.

The school program is an introduction to environment studies, where the students aged between 12-14yrs are taught on the importance of biodiversity, the different communities that exist within an ecosystem, the important endemic and endangered species of Fiji, waste management and climate change.

The four schools that are part of the MES school program also mark important environment dates, this is always the highlight of the school program, as the students get to showcase their knowledge about their environment through art. This term the four schools will be celebrating World Environment Day and World Ocean Day which fall on the 5th and 8th of June respectively.

MES looks forward to a productive year with the four participating schools and would also like to thank the volunteers for their time and commitment towards the program.
