Projects Abroad Fiji is currently embarking on an awareness campaign based on sharks.

The Nadi based organisation extended their commitment to coastal villages on Viti Levu after introducing the program on a workshop in Nadi.

Project co-ordinator Ronetava Ronaivakulua pointed out that they have conducted workshops in Galoa Village and Navua educating villagers on the importance of keeping their environment clean for themselves and for marine life.

He added that they were engaging on a project of recycling to help the village and the conservation of the marine ecosystem particularly in nurturing mangroves.

This project includes those buying plastic bags from the villagers to plant mangrove propagules and nurse them until they grow before they take them back to the village for replanting.
