The taste during Food FestivalThe Festival of Food which coincided with International Conference of Ocean and Rivers held at the FNU Namaka Campus brought visitors and local alike to witness the various food preparation method from different countries. According to FNU Vice chancellor, Dr Ganesh Chand, Nadi was are great location for the festival as tourist flock to this town and giving them more chances to experience the Pacific cuisine. Representing West Papua team –Ms Linda Lindongi and twenty seven other young ladies showcased their fine cuisine from the Indonesia Culture particularly West Papua delicacy. The group was in Fiji for the first time to exhibit their cuisine. According to Mrs Linda, the response from those who have attended the Festival was good even though many of the stall owners use the same ingredients in their food but the recipes were quite different. Among the participants was renowned Castaway Island Resort Chef Mr Lance Seeto who demonstrated to the audience easy and healthy meals that can be made at home using local products.

The food festival serves as a platform of sharing ideas and knowledge on some of the cooking technique and skills known by Pacific Islanders in response to climate change adaptation and the urgency for the sustainable management of ocean and rivers to our neighboring countries yet ensuring that the exploitation of oceans and rivers contribute to optimum developments ad living standards.
