For the month of September, Tokoriki and Matamanoa Island Resorts are scheduled to undertake their training workshop on Best Practices for Water sports Activities and Snorkeling Guidelines. The workshop targets activities and boating staff who are directly involved with water sports activities on a daily basis. The aim of the training is to ensure that these staff know about the importance of protecting and conserving their coral reefs and their associated ecosystems from further human degradation. A vital component of the workshop is also to ensure that participants are well versed with correct, efficient and effective methods of briefing their guests and tourists. Briefings to guests and tourists at any Resort are a must prior to handing out any water sports equipment and snorkeling gear. The safety of guests and tourists is imperative as well as the health and good care of coral reefs and their surrounding marine environment.
