Australian Government Funds Turtle Conservation in Fiji

The Marine Turtle Conservation project is funded through the Australian government’s Regional Natural Heritage Programme. The project, totaling A$163,528, will be applied by the Institute of Marine Resources (IMR) over a two year period.

In Fiji, the project areas includes the island of Rotuma and the Mamanuca Group. The Laje Rotuma Initiative and the Mamanuca Environment Society are now working closely with the Institute of Marine Resources in the carrying out of this very important project.
