Reef Check Survey

On the 13th and 14th of November, MES joined Subsurface Fiji with its 1st reef check survey for this year 2007. Team members included Harry and Taylor Koens, Victor Parr of Subsurface, Diana Nagatalevu, Seini Tawakelevu and Fesi Isimeli of MES.
A total of 2 transects (one in the shallow and the other in the deep) were laid at Jimmies Reef, a dive site of Subsurface Fiji. Land marks of the 2 transects were taken for the purpose of revisits in the next 6 months. Data collected from the reef check survey will be sent to GCRMN as part of Fiji’s contribution to the health and status of coral reefs in the world.
