Coral Spawning

The Mamanuca Islands Group

White Sandy BeachThe Mamanuca Islands have been the focus of tourism development in Fiji for many years and receive a substantial visitation of tourists in any given year. Human impact through tourism is high. This creates pressure on the reef systems throughout the area ranging from sedimentation, improper waste-water treatment, overfishing, unsupervised water-sports activities and reef damage through snorkellers and divers. MES through its member resorts and tour operators are seeking to reduce this impact by the adoption of best practice techniques in their respective operations.
