The Mamanuca Environment Society through its works has also established affiliations with many non-government organisations as well as government ministries. This provides the opportunity for a working partnerships based on mutual recognition and support for each other’s activities that share similar objectives in relation to achieving a more sustainable future.

The Fiji Locally Managed Marine Areas is a network of concerned Government Departments, NGO”s other institutions, communities and individuals who are working to promote the sustainable utilization of marine resources in Fiji. It is a part of a network of regional organisations knows as the Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMA) network. Organisation members include Institute of Applied Science of USP; WWF South Pacific Fiji Country Programme; Resort Support; National Trust of Fiji; International Marine life Alliance (IMA) Foundation of the South Pacific People International (FSPI); Coral Cay Conservation; Mamanuca Environment Society (MES); Fisheries Dept; Tourism Dept; Fijian Affairs; Environment and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS); Laje Rotuma, PCDF, Seaweb and the Fiji Institute of Technology. FLMMA is also a network of marine areas, with varied managed uses, from complete long term ‘no take or tabu’ areas, to seasonal tabu areas, to areas fished with the use of only specified fishing gears, decided upon and managed by “qoliqoli” or traditional owner communities.
