Malolo Kids Club Programme

Malolo island resort has ventured on with a new programme that offers more activities for their guests but most importantly spreads environmental awareness to them. The new programme which focuses on the youger guests includes fun and educational activities such as coral viewing, fish identification, lessons on proper snorkelling and better caring for our environment, nature walks, mangrove walks and more. Each day is a new adventure and MES assists with the first two days of the week long programme.

Monday is “Waitui Day” or “Sea Day” and the day is concentrated on the marine environment. The kids are taught on best practices while out enjoying water activities and also taught proper snorkeling techniques that will allow them to not only enjoy the beautiful view but also take care around the surrounding reef environment. Another activity and most anticipated one is the coral viewing and fish feeding which is very much enjoyed by the kids. They enjoy the sights of the very diverse house reefs of Malolo island resort.

Tuesday is “Vuravura Day” or “Nature Day” and the days activities focus on Malolo’s terrestrial environment. The kids enjoy a nature walk assisted by a guide who explains significant tree and plant species that are used as herbal remedies for the locals. They also take a boat trip down to Treasure island resort to see and learn about the endangered sea turtle and crested iguana. For those who have never seen these two endagered species, this part of the programme is one most looked forward to. They return to Malolo island resort for a mangrove walk and a beach cleanup which they do with much enthusiasm.

The days programme is culminated with the kids each receiving a certificate of participation and this is done during dinner with the parents as the guests.

The kids are given an experience of a lifetime allowing them to fully enjoy the island life and understand the Fijian way of life. A programme that has been very successful and very fun and educational. Vinaka Malolo island resort!
